LYO is seeking professional directors and designers for up to two productions in the 2012 – 2013 season. Rehearsals are held Friday evenings for principals and Saturday mornings for the chorus and principals from September to production week in February and again from March to production week in July. Operas under consideration are Elixir of Love, La Belle Helene, The Merry Widow, Susannah, Candide and Der Vogelhandler

Volunteering for Opera
LYO provides opportunities not only for young singers but also young directors, designers and costumiers and backstage and front stage staff during rehearsal week.
For young directors being an assistant director can introduce or sharpen experience, practice can also be obtained in backstage work in production week.
Volunteering for parents and friends
Parents and friends are encouraged to join the Friends of LYO coffee bar team – it provides valuable funds for LYO and provides a great opportunity to meet other parents and friends of LYO.
Trustees
Trustees are required from time to time for Leeds Youth Opera and the Friends of Leeds Youth Opera.
