Paid Work
We occasionally undertake education work in secondary and primary schools based around song and drama and in connection with an opera which is being staged. In 2012 we worked in schools around Vaughan Williams Opera The Poisoned Kiss. If you have experience of this type of educational work please contact us.

Volunteering for Opera
LYO provides opportunities not only for young singers but also young directors, designers and costumiers and backstage and front stage staff during rehearsal week. It can also form part of a student's portfolio. We also provide opportunities for musicians with Grade 8 and above to be involved in the orchestra.
For young directors being an assistant director can introduce or sharpen experience, practice can also be obtained in backstage work in production week.
Volunteering for parents and friends
Parents and friends are encouraged to join the Friends of LYO . It provides valuable funds for LYO and provides a great opportunity to meet other parents and friends of LYO.
Trustees
Trustees are required from time to time for Leeds Youth Opera and the Friends of Leeds Youth Opera.
